A great night was had by all who “marched” with Heathfield Silver Band on Saturday at Rotherfield and Mark Cross’s bonfire night. For the first time ever we in fact didn’t march but were chauffeured in a trailer hauled by a massive Massey Ferguson tractor. Thank you to Angus Morgan of AHM Agri for the loan of the tractor and to Peter who did a superb driving job. Using the trailer meant the older members of the band who are almost past their marching days (sorry guys!) and others who are unable to march, were given the chance to join the fun. And, to top it all, HSB won the 1st prize for the Best Decorated Vehicle. We hope to have use of the trailer at some future events. Meanwhile thank you to everyone who played and to the lovely crowds on the route.
