Heathfield Silver Band is very sad to have recently lost Ted Lee, Honorary Vice President and a much loved former tenor horn player and Librarian of the Band. He passed away on Tuesday 28 July.
Ted joined the band in 1952, and loved everything to do with the band. He took on the Band Librarian role for many years, and taught many of the youngsters in the band to play. He was incredibly patient with them. He used to love just being in the bandroom, sorting music, fixing instruments and generally making himself useful. He finally stepped down from the role of Librarian a year or two ago. He will be very much missed by us all.
Our condolences go out to the family who are sadly also grieving over the loss of Ted’s wife Clarice.
